Roof Repair Smedway built its Commercial Roofing division around one idea: homeowners in Northwood deserve a straight answer, a fair price, and a truck in the driveway fast.
Every technician on a Roof Repair Smedway crew earned their spot through years on real roofs in Northwood, IA, not a two-week onboarding video — that's the difference customers notice the moment we pull up.
Licensing and insurance aren't a line item we mention once and forget — we keep documentation current and available on request, because a homeowner signing off on a Commercial Roofing project deserves proof, not a promise.
We've seen what happens when a roof gets "good enough" instead of done right — the drywall stains, the mold behind the insulation, the second call nobody wanted to make. Our Commercial Roofing teams build to avoid that call entirely.
Verified licensing across Northwood, IA with documentation available on request.
Emergency lines stay staffed through nights, weekends, and holidays.
You'll see the number before any work starts, not buried in a final invoice.
Technicians dispatched from within Northwood, IA, not flown in from another region.
By the time water is visibly dripping into a room, the damage underneath the surface has usually been developing for a while.
If your downspout discharge looks like sand, the UV-protective coating on your shingles is breaking down faster than it should.
Once a shingle starts warping, it's no longer sealing properly against wind-driven rain.
Small gaps that let light in will let water in during the next heavy rain.
Sagging drywall or a soft spot underfoot in the attic usually points to sustained moisture damage, not a one-time drip.
Energy bills that creep upward without an obvious reason are worth checking against your roof's condition.
Missing shingles expose the underlayment, which is only designed as a temporary secondary barrier, not a long-term surface.
Not every roof problem calls for the same fix, which is why we scope each job individually instead of running every call through one generic estimate.
Active leaks after a storm get a same-day response whenever it's physically possible — a temporary tarp-down first, a permanent fix scheduled right behind it.
From a handful of cracked shingles to a full asphalt or metal system replacement, our residential crews scope the job against manufacturer specs, not guesswork.
Commercial roofs carry different loads and different membrane systems than residential shingles, and our crews are trained on TPO, EPDM, and modified bitumen accordingly.
A full tear-off strips the roof down to the decking, replaces damaged boards, and installs a new underlayment and shingle system built to current code.
Scheduled maintenance visits catch loose flashing and clogged valleys before the next storm turns them into an emergency call.
Chimney crickets, skylight seals, and valley flashing are common leak points that general handyman work often gets wrong — our crews treat them as their own scope.
A dispatcher takes down your address, roof type, and the issue, then routes it to the nearest available crew in Northwood, IA.
You get a plain-language explanation of what's actually happening, not just a repair quote.
Financing and insurance-claim assistance are discussed at this stage if applicable.
A final walkthrough confirms the repair or install meets the agreed scope before the invoice is closed out.
Response windows are communicated upfront, not left as a vague "sometime this week."
Flat-rate pricing means the quote you approve is the quote you pay, barring a scope change we'll flag with you first.
Crews carry moisture meters, infrared scanners for larger jobs, and proper fall-protection gear on every site.
If something about the finished work doesn't meet the agreed scope, we come back and make it right.
We've worked with enough adjusters across Northwood, IA to know what documentation actually gets a claim approved faster.
If a repair is all your roof needs, we'll say so — we don't push a full replacement to inflate the invoice.
Every Commercial Roofing project closes with a written warranty covering our labor, separate from whatever coverage the shingle or membrane manufacturer already provides.
We also guarantee the estimate itself: barring a scope change you approve in writing, the number on your written quote is the number on your final invoice.
We keep multiple crews staged across Northwood, IA so that a storm hitting one part of the region doesn't leave the rest of Northwood waiting.
Dispatch routes are planned around Northwood's actual neighborhoods and access roads, not a generic radius drawn on a map, which is part of why our arrival estimates tend to hold up.
